Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a hobby, but rather to gain experience. In order to do so she started writing her own songs that were her own creations. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mother said it could aid people in not to gain fame with the work she does, but to help those around them see their own importance and how they have an impact on the world. Her first piano lessons began when she was just six years old, then began making music at the age of nine. Her family didn't hear about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. The actress claims that she likes writing songs. Music is for her the ideal way to be able to feel everything.
